Create a Jira account By Using this link. I have chosen a free Jira account for a demonstration. Select Jira Software from the given options.

Step 2: Sign-in and provide site name

You can sign in with your Google account or email as your wish. Click Create Your account and Give a valid site name to build your site. Click “Agree and sign up”.

Step 3: Personalize as per selected options

You can personalize your work according to your work criteria, job role.

Step 4: Add team members and send invite

Add your team members by emailing them as in the following screen or you can skip that to add later.

Step 5: Provide feedback

Select your experience with Jira, Experience with agile, working area, and schedule.

Step 6: Choose project template

You can create a Kanban Agile project or a Scrum Agile project. I have created a scrum agile project here.

Kanban – Kanban is suitable for teams working with bugs who need a quick delivery. It focuses on rapid assignment and working on the correct order.

Scrum – Scrum agile is best for teams who work with new feature development with a tight deadline. These teams can manage their work by working into iterative hatches named as sprints.

Step 7: Create project

Give a project name and Create your project.

Step 8: Launch dashboard. DONE!

You can see the dashboard after you have successfully created your project. Now It’s time to start your work.

You can see some settings on the left side.”Roadmap” is called as the timeline of your project. It helps to see the progress of your project. You can create issues of your project using the backlog section. There are three types of issues called bugs, tasks, and Story.

You can manage a to-do list, in-progress works, and complete work using the Board section. Pages are the documents related to your project. By using the Add Item section You will be able to add a repository or an item.

You can view your work, projects, filters, Dashboards, and people in the project by using the menu bar items. Use supportive integrations and apps to your projects using apps. You can create another project by using “Create”.

That’s pretty much the basics of Jira and you can play around to become familiar with it using the information above. It is a great platform to manage your work.

In general, the following are the three important things that project or businesses should follow from ‘Testing or QA’ perspective. In fact, these three items are already the fundamental ‘testing’ related tasks generally done in any project :

Initially, Poka Yoke was designed to implement mistake proofing techniques in the manufacturing industry. A SIM card slot that does not allow you to insert the SIM in a wrong way is a good example of this concept.
